Trust
How do you know whether information deserves your trust?
Trust is earned, not assumed. These are the questions Ultravocal is being designed to help you ask of any information you find.
Five questions worth asking
- Where did it come from?
- How current is it?
- What is known?
- What is still uncertain?
- Who should I verify this with?
Credible sources
Ultravocal is being designed to show where information comes from, so you can judge it for yourself.
Sources can include official court materials, public records, and other published information. Source quality varies, and information can change. Ultravocal is being designed to say so plainly, including how current something is.
Uncertainty and limitations
Some questions do not have a clear answer. Practices can differ between courts, and rules can change. Ultravocal is being designed to show what is known, what is still uncertain, and what is unknown, instead of filling gaps with guesses.
Ultravocal does not claim to verify legal truth for everyone, everywhere, and information may be incomplete.
Ultravocal highly encourages users to always crosscheck sources and to interrogate assumptions.
Community experience
People who have been through a process often know things official sources leave out, and that context can be valuable.
Each account reflects one person’s situation and may not match yours. Ultravocal is being designed to keep community experience separate from sourced information and to avoid presenting it as proof.
Qualified professional expertise
Qualified professionals bring training and accountability that Ultravocal does not have. Ultravocal is being designed to help you understand when professional support may be useful, and to help you prepare for those conversations.
For anything important, verify with a qualified person who knows your situation.
Corrections and feedback
Information can be wrong or go out of date. If something looks incorrect, we want to hear about it.
Privacy by design
Private user information is being designed around data minimization and end-to-end encryption.
This website does not ask about your case, and the waitlist is a separate hosted form. No system can promise perfect privacy or safety, and Ultravocal does not claim to.
